These new measures have been introduced to make online payments even more secure. The PSD2 Directive protects your credit card information through a process called 2-factor authentication, which requires you to verify your identity to prove that you, and not someone else, is using the card. Thanks to the increased security introduced by the PSD2 regulation, if someone takes possession of your phone, your computer or your credit card, they will not be able to make an online payment. If you're having trouble paying by credit card, we recommend checking with your bank if your card is already registered for 2-factor authentication. If not, your bank will give you instructions on how to register.
The system checks whether the card uses the 3-D-secure Verified by Visa or Mastercard SecureCode security programs. These are security procedures developed exclusively for this type of credit card to verify that it is actually the legitimate holder of the credit card and the legitimate online seller who carry out the transaction. If a credit card holder is enrolled in the 3-D-secure security program, after entering the order data another query window will open connected to the customer's bank which will ask to enter the "secure code ” (a password chosen by you). Only by entering the exact password, the transaction will be executed.

The system checks whether the delivery address provided with the order is identical to the billing address registered by American Express (AVS: Amex Address Verification System). If the address does not match, the customer will be notified by e-mail and asked to provide American Express with the chosen delivery address. The delivery of the order takes place only after successful authentication. For all payments made by credit card, the following regulation applies: The credit for returns will always be refunded to the credit card used for the purchase.
